ICE Futures Europe, headquartered in London, is a Recognised Investment Exchange which offers a range of energy products including crude oil, gas oil, natural gas and coal as well as providing the platform for the world’s largest carbon market, the European Climate Exchange. ICE Futures Europe is now seeking a Director of Market Development to take a leading role in the development and promotion of ICE’s energy markets with a strong focus on oil. With the forthcoming launch of ICE’s own clearing house, ICE Clear Europe, this is an exciting time to be joining this energetic and fast-moving company.


The challenge
• Take responsibility for the development and enhancement of ICE’s Brent Crude and Gas Oil futures contracts, to strengthen their position as the leading benchmark contracts for internationally-traded oil
• Identify and anticipate customer needs in order to help design and deliver new revenue opportunities, contracts, trading tools and trading facilities for ICE’s oil business as a whole and ICE Futures Europe in particular
• Work alongside ICE’s global sales team as a key oil domain expert, promoting ICE oil contracts at conferences and presentations around the world
• Maintain close contact with regulators, price reporters, the oil trading community and the broader oil industry
• Take a senior role in ICE Futures Europe, working closely with the President to drive the next phase of its development


The candidate
• Graduate, ideally with an MBA or postgraduate business qualification, you will have a deep understanding of oil trading and oil markets.
• A proven track record of self-starting, owning and shaping new products and programmes.
• Excellent influencing skills. This role has a small number of direct reports, but huge potential for strategic and bottom-line impact on the organisation. An instinctive team-player.
• Experience of dealing with governmental or regulatory bodies, specifically with reference to energy markets.
• Constantly striving to deliver the products, services and performance required in today’s dynamic markets.
