Data Gathering / Requirement Analysis

At our first meeting we would first gather all relevant information pertaining to the acquisition including, geographical location, company size, core proposition, client database and assets / liabilities. Using our extensive databases and research capability we will identify all the relevant companies that fit the Acquisition criteria (irrespective of whether they are “for sale”).

This long list is presented to the client and any “no-go’s” or conflicts of interest are filtered out at that stage and the search list is signed off.

The Approach

A Newlay Styles research partner will next contact the agreed contact list in complete confidence.   Carefully we present the idea and benefits of the acquisition process to them.   The initial approach is written with an extensive telephone conversation as follow up much the same as in a Head Hunt situation.   This way of access leads the majority of the companies approached open to a conversation.

Only once we have had full buy in from both parties will we divulge the identity of our client via the signing of a non disclosure agreement.   This way encourages companies to take notice and start reassessing their own needs.   Once this has been done we find a reasonable percentage come through with some form of offer.

In order to assess the suitability of the companies which have come forward we then delve deeper into the detailing of those companies in terms of matching the requirements, culture, workforce and shareholders needs on the client side.   Newlay Styles will guarantee that you as the client will only meet with those who are truly interested and considering selling to you.   As a final consideration Newlay Styles also provides a fully detailed report on the information given by the other company allowing you to make a judgment as to whether you would like to meet them before things progress any further.
