Job Description:
Reporting to the UK Renewables Business Manager, the Wind Energy Consultant will be responsible for leading, supporting and delivering our highly technical studies within the UK onshore and offshore wind sector. More specifically, he/she will coordinate, direct, and collaborate with internal (Hamburg & Montreal) or external teams on studies on the development, design, operations and performance of on- and offshore projects focusing on the EIA, wind/yield assessment, constraints and planning aspects.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Carry out preliminary and detailed multidisciplinary technical studies during the prospecting, site assessment, EIA, consenting and design phases of wind farm development.
• Project manage the delivery of the preliminary and detailed multidisciplinary technical studies utilising resources and project teams out with the UK (Hamburg & Montreal) and external partners
• Collaborate within project teams and lead on due diligence mandates as well as assessments of EIAs, wind assessments, yield calculations and consents/planning applications
• Act as a recognized UK technical authority both within and outside the organization on all issues related to EIA/wind assessment/yield and consenting process
• Write technical reports and, when needed, participate in the presentation of the results of technical studies
• Advise colleagues with the objective of developing internal expertise
• Support and advise clients during the wind farm development and operational phases on matters concerning of EIAs, wind assessments, yield calculations and consents/planning applications
• Perform an adequate technology/policy watch of any technological developments applicable to of EIAs, wind assessments, yield calculations and consents/planning applications

Related Responsibilities:
• Meet with clients to establish and understand their needs, individually and in support of the UK Business Manager
• Support clients in their communications with stakeholders such as planning authorities, etc
• Support and advise clients on matters concerning EIAs, consent process, wind and energy yield. etc
• Strive to constantly maintain the competitive advantages of the company in terms of techniques, policy/legislation and technology
• Support the development of business opportunities related to his/her field of expertise

Requirements:
Education and/or experience:
• Diploma in engineering with a specialization in a relevant field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant field, including at least 1 year in the renewable energy field; preferably offshore

Qualifications:
• Ability to manage several complex projects concurrently
• Excellent understanding and knowledge of issues related to EIAs and consenting processes
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Excellent skills in managing and developing interpersonal relations
• Command of MS Office software, particularly Excel and Word
• German or French Language skills (advantage)
• Knowledge of programming of wind assessments and energy yield calculations (advantage)
• Experience in the development and operation of wind power projects (advantage)
